Dem keys, dat raid, dem koreans.

Yo guys. Been a while since I've posted here so I figured I'd post something interesting. You guys may or may not know that episode 3 of season 2 is going to involve erg mines. So picture Vindictus gone steam punk per se. Here's a trailer for the episode 3 raids. They are pretty different. Especially the first one.

In the meantime on NA, there is a key event. Haven't seen one of those in FO-EVA. With a chance to get white wings and black wings. Good luck to all of you! And don't forget about ol' Pantheum.

Guild rankings, Guild raids, Guild E'R'THANG

If you read on from here, I have posted my thoughts on categorizing people within the guild. This isn't to hurt anyone's feelings, or make them feel inferior. This list of ratings is just that. A list of ratings. Categorize yourself, if you agree with your position, good. If not, maybe you have work to do. It's good to have a great relationship with your fellow guild mates. In order to become a King, you must not only be skilled with the game, but also have good reputations with your guild mates. If you think you can deem yourself worthy of King, let me know and I'll begin an exam for you. How I go about deciding who is King and who is not, is secret. (Of course it might be spilled later on but I get my fun for a little bit.) These categories might also be used for suggested raid parties later on down the road. So read on, find yourself, and there will be more after this post. Love you all. By the way, King's names will be listed on the guild website for all to see for their accomplishments. Think of it as my reward to you guys for all your hard work. I know it's small, but still. :3

Kings: The Players of Players. These people are an elite few that can carry themselves through a raid while carrying someone else's damage. 33%+ damage in raids occasionally, but ALWAYS over 12.5% Not attack oriented. These people can Solo Rocheste raids with ease. You must prove yourself to gain the respect that comes with this piece. You rarely see these people lying on the ground. They also have a great reputation with guild members and are all around a respectable person.

Queens: People who have shown their skill and ability and can manage themselves through the more difficult challenges of the game. 16k+, or a good skill background with 15k. References can help build this reputation. Barely becomes incapacitated in raids or missions.

Prince/Princess: A custom category to fit in between Bishop and Queen. These people have power, can show it off, but at times just don't do too well in raids or Missions. They can solo hero mode missions, but require an assist when things get edgy. Such as Hero West Hilder Forest missions.

Bishop: People who have gained a respectable skill and are able to carry themselves through somewhat difficult missions. 14k+ as a basis. Good amount of skill Doesn't die very often. but can make someone use all their feathers if they're off their game.

Knight: This category pertains to those who have the stats of a high level 60 or low 70 gear setup. 13k+, Enough skill to be noticeable, damage output is OK, but they just aren't at the level of showing off their stuff.

Esquire: People with 12k+. A group that understands raids, but at the same time, finds them difficult due to the lack of stats. They understand how to maneuver, acquire break offs, things of that nature. But just aren't able to stay fighting for extended periods of time without being revived or using Potions. 12k+, level 60+

Rook: Could be short for Rookie if you understand. People who are just hitting level 60 and unlocking raids. Learning the ropes, but have no experience with raids. Therefore become incapacitated quite often. Less than 12k but level 60+.

Pawn: Your average, under level 60 character. New to the game and all it has to offer, these people are the spawn of tomorrow. These are the people that will help shape the guild, Grow with the guild, and have the potential to gain power and recognition. If you are here, don't see it as a bad thing, think of it as the start of your level 60 career. Any character below 60 goes here.

Well, that's the end of the ranking's portion (mostly.) Now on to more guildy matters. Some of us have been speaking, and we have spoken. Guild raids are coming back! This will give us more opportunities to work as a team, get more experience as a guild under our belt, and help our rooks and ranks of that nature, get more comfortable with the raids. Later on I will be taking a poll on which times best work for the guild. I'll post a link here on this post in the comments so all of you may find it easily. Once you have voted, just sit back and wait. Results will be collected at the end of July 2013. Once that has been decided, the time spot selected will be used for guildies to raid with one another. Notice, I said RAID. Not run CMI, SG, or TD, RAAAAIIIID. Making sure everyone understands. We have to keep in mind that time zones CAN and WILL be a problem. So take that into consideration whenever you go to cast your vote for times. They will be in either 3 or 4 hour windows. Which leave plenty of time.

As you probably noticed by now, this post is relatively long. So here's a picture of a drunk flamingo.

Back on task now. Some of us Admins/respected guild members, think it might be a good idea to put ourselves out there and help out some of the people who need it. If you think you might, (preferably an Esquire or below) have questions about something like, "Where should I go from here?" or maybe "Am I on the right track?" Perhaps even, "What would be a good setup to get me where I need to be?" Questions like this are what we look for. A whisper would be preferred, but if you would like multiple answers, feel free to ask us in guild chat. BUT, I emphasize dat butt. If you come up to us and ask questions like, "Hey, do you want to help me with (proceeds to name 50bagillion things at once.)" No. We will politely, yet firmly, ask you to please limit it to one (MAYBE TWO if we're feeling generous) thing. This not only lets us get back to what we were doing, but it also shows you that you need to branch off and power up on your own. Yes we will help you, but to a short extent. We are here to GUIDE YOU, not to hold your hand.

That pretty much concludes this post. I'll be looking forward to seeing your opinions on raid times. If you have any questions, leave a comment, or message me in game.

Lots of love, <3 Valark.

P.S. Congrats to all our new members and admins! We hope to be seeing more of you!

Nevermind. No longer grumpy.

Just a quick update for you guys, June 19th is the 100% CONFIRMED date of Season 2 Episode 2 AND............yes there's an AND. AND we also get the seal shop update!

But no word on Dual Blades yet. :<

I'm pretty grumpy at Nexon (when isn't someone?)

Well Patriots, I'm sorry to say we will NOT be getting episode 2 until NEXT week. This saddens me greatly. To the extent of providing proof of my misunderstanding, I have gathered some comments from the Vindictus forums. Tomorrows maintenance is NOT Epsiode 2. Yes you read that correctly. The following are a couple comments made by Vindi players. The last is a comment made by Aeselli. She is the community manager for those who don't know.

"Cashews" then "Kristie"

Either way, nothing to do but wait and see."

"^remember this also"

Aeselli,"Sorry to burst your bubble but that isn't the BIG ONE. Not yet anyway; it's just a regularly scheduled maintenance."

Well, you guys can see why I thought it was today by the first quote. Thread=deleted. Second quote though.... Makes me think it may be either the 20th, or the 27th at the very latest. Hopefully the first. If for some reason, they're fibbing us and it IS ACTUALLY TOMORROW, Holy shit I might flip a tit or 2.

In Vindictus EU news, A devilish package came out. Featuring a 50br elixir, a random enchant scroll box, and a necklace. But not just any old necklace. This necklace makes it so that any weapon you hold that is +0 -> +7 immediately is treated as a +8. It does not BECOME +8, it's just treated that way.

Also, I need those photo's guys. Email is Duckwithtaco@Gmail.com

Label the topic as "photos" or something like that so I can find it easily. Thanks for keeping it cool.

GG Nexon, you lost me when I saw this. Also, Episode 2 in 9 days

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! Be prepared to flip a tit. So I've been digging around the internet for some new mmo's to play. Because frankly, I need more new experiences. Sure ESO looks kinda interesting, but not really my jam. Closers looked kinda cool, but it's a side scrolling mmo. Kinda like a 3d Maplestory, but WAY more actiony. This game on the other hand, ArcheAge, this game....made me drop my jaw off the empire state building. It's still falling. If you've ever wanted a bit of a slower paced more social interactive vindictus, but still has that kick of action, along with OPEN WORLD, you've come to the right place. Check out this site.

Archeage promotional website: http://www.archeage.com/en

This game looks pretty badass, so if you can't handle that much awesome in a single site, I'll break down some of the points I saw that were good.

You want character customization, on it. 10 skill trees and over 120 possible classes.

Races: 4 playable races as of now with a male and female on each race.

FUCKING HUUUUUUUUGE ASS MAP 9 beautiful areas that I've seen. All being completely different from one another. 3 different continents with the 3rd being fought over.

You want Naval Combat? got it. Naval battles with other players makes sure you're never alone in the ocean. Even ocean beasts lurk around. Also, they make great use of rowboats in the game. Including rafting, racing, Guinness records, and a "Lover's Rowboat"

Trading is also a huge part of the game. with 3 modes of travel, including Ship, cart, and donkey, (yes that says donkey) You'll be on the lookout for bandits and other things. Prepare to make some awesome cash.

You wanna fly? Go do it. The game has implemented gliders. So you can jump off a high point, and enjoy yourself as you glide to the ground looking over all the beautiful landscapes.

Court System and Jail: I was kind of surprised at this one. The game is going to have a legal system. I guess bandits and such who get caught serve jail time? I'm not sure how it'll work out. But hey, another thing to do.

Duels: What's an MMO without pvp? kinda boring. and you thought Vindi pvp was intense. Holy shit do you have a mindblow coming.

Large scale battles: Basically team PvP, but a LOT of people.

Wanna just chill at home and build stuff? feel free. the game has a pretty unique crafting system. I've heard it has the potential to put guild wars 2's crafting system to shame. But what do I know? I just tell you guys the stuff :D

There's probably more, but that's most of what's on the site that I saw interesting. Keep yourself updated! This game isnt even in closed beta yet and it's been in production for YEARS. A lot of games have been running the CryEngine 3, and frankly, it's looking pretty good. But now onto Vindictus Season 2 Episode 2

I TOLD you guys I was gonna make a decent sized post about this. Well, here it is. In 9 days, we will be patching for Season 2 Episode 2. Which means start saving your gold pieces. This shit's about to get EXPENSIVE with the new nighthawk armor and Noblesse armor coming, you'll be pretty damn busy. New weapons on the way as well. Including Vella's Dual Blades. And hopefully we'll finally get the damn seal shop update.

To get started, here's a pic of the Noblesse armor.

Yeah, yeah, I'm getting these from SakuraFarron's Tumblr. Now she/he Can't sue me for copy/pasting. :D

DAFUQ IS DAT!?!? Reminds me of a bird of some sort.

Here's the new Twin Spears....now where are the Twin Swords....

Besides Genn and Cchio, how many Fio's do we have in this guild o.O

FUCKIN' BEEEEEEEEEEEF

Ah, THERE'S the swords. Colorful too.

Fiona in Nighthawk armor. With a Nighthawk long sword and shield

Unfortunately I cannot seem to find nighthawk armor for dudes anywhere. Sorry ladies, no ladyboners for you today.

YAY VIDEOS!

Another video which showsA bosses and Vella's Dual Blades below

All in all, I think this episode will be VERY successful. We've never had an area quite like this. Unless you want to count Fobellow Prairie, and if you do, gtfo. New weapons, New bosses, more jumping to evade attacks (FUCK). Whatever you do when playing episode 2, watch your footing, and jump when you know you need to.

Thanks for reading!

Dolby Axon tutorial

As some of you are aware, the possibility of using a program called "RaidCall" BUT, I can't seem to access raidcall.com, so instead I'm going to throw you guys into Dolby Axon. It's got GREAT sound quality and a few features you guys may enjoy. This may be implemented so we'll all have an easier time communicating. This guide will show you how to install it CORRECTLY and how to use it! :D

Let's Begin.

1: Just follow this link: https://axon.dolby.com/download_sign_up.php
2: Now that you're there, make an account. It's really easy. Quit your whining.
3: After you've confirmed your email, your download should already be done. Speedy right? Click the .exe which starts the installation.
4: Now for the biggest lie of all mankind, continue to hit next until you see the licence agreement. Nobody reads that bullshit. Hit "I agree" and continue.
5: Choose where on your computer you want to save this thing to. Shouldn't be too hard. Just put it in your documents if you feel you might have to get to it later.
6: Keep going, doing as you please. Until you see "Install" click it. It should finish almost instantaneously.
7: Run Dolby Axon. <-- easiest thing yet, right?
8: Let me know you've created an account and want in on dolby axon. Tell me your username so I can add you to the group. My username is Tachumo. Just like it is here on the Blog.
9: HOORAY! you've successfully put in dolby axon. Just remember a few key things. And by a few, I mean one. If you're talking with people and want to get rid of the window, DO NOT push the X. That exits you from the chat entirely and you'll have to reboot axon to get back in.
10: As for joining a room, it's fairly simple. After I invite you, accept the invitation, click on our guild name, and join. Simple as that.

I'll be posting Episode 2 stuff later on. But it will be here before the day the content actually arrives. See you all online!

VindiBingo and Warframe Update 8

YUP so Nexon NA was like, "Yo dawg, I'ma let the community finish, but before episode 2, we gonna have a muthafuckin' bingo game." As far as I'm concerned, for anyone that isn't sure how it works yet, here it is.

At the start of everyday, you can go see one of the three travelers. (Kitty cats) and they will give you 2 attendance tickets, you can use these on the spot to get 2 random numbers 1- 50 for your bingo board. You also get one PINK attendance ticket. Collect three of these, and you can get a bingo number of your choice. Keep in mind though, that when using the pink slips, you can only choose a number 1- 40. Read that again. 1- 40. One more time. ONE THROUGH FORTY. I swear, if I get asked why we can't buy numbers 41 - 50, someone is getting as ass whooping.

Along with this Bingo event, Nexon is doing a weekend thing. Starting at 8 pm eastern, 5pm pacific time, this weekend, next weekend, the following weekend, and the weekend after that, different things are going on. Dont forget about all the sales as well!

5/25 5/26 - evil core +1

6/1 6/2 - free dye ampoule event.

6/8 6/9 - 2x EXP event

6/15 6/22 - Raids +1 and free goddess grace event.

And keep in mind, come June 12th, we'll be getting Season 2 Episode 2. So boost them stats up any more you can by then. You'll need them for the insane bosses of next episode. Here's a sneak peek at the Korean Episode 2.5 raid boss. Look carefully and you'll see some new skills. The Boss featured in this video is Executor Pantheum.

SO! In other News, Warframe update 8 is out. Featuring the all new, player created Dojo. I could go into some extreme details on this, but I'm not really feeling it after the Vindi breakdown. Digital Extremes has also released 22 new weapons for warframe. Including a machete, a grineer sniper rifle, and Kunai, which are a silent alternative to a secondary weapon. There are also new maps. Featuring a Grineer ship and THE VOID. The void is an orokin relic found within a dimensional rift. You need keys to access the void. Forgot to mention you also need a key to enter the dojo, but youre given the blueprint to make one whenever you are in a clan. So it's no big problem.

That's the major highlights this week. Check back occasionally for new stuff. And if I ever find something good, you know where to look.

Back with a vengeance.......and a slap for Nexon NA

Hey fellow Patriots, Valark here, and after a month or two (probably two) I'm back. I feel like kicking some ass. Looking forward to raiding with you guys again. But to get back onto the usual flow of things, I'ma get started with something I've been wanting to do. BREAK OFF TUTORIALS!!!

Surely you guys have had trouble smashing spots on bosses until you REALLY got a good look at precisely where and how to do the job, so I'm going to keep this relatively easy. Probably start of with something simple.

Let's start off with Glas. An easy raid boss to break off if you know what you're doing.
Step one: Locate the break off spot. See that photo up top? if not, you either are blind, or don't have pictures enabled. It's HIS right wing. so if you're looking at the photo, it's the wing on our left.

Step Two: How2Break. Glas is pretty simple. Knock him down, apply chain hooks. I think at LEAST 2 people must bring chain hooks. Just remember that Evies cannot use chain hooks. Knock down glas using the ballista, and make sure a bow Kai has not jumped onto glas. If a bow Kai does this, it cancels out all the hard work the ballista person did and wastes chain hooks if you already used them. When aiming the chain hook, I usually aim for where the wing either folds over, or meets Glas' skin. Anywhere around there should be okay though. Just make sure it's a solid connection.

Optional Step Three: If you and your team failed because either you ran out of ballista spears, fear not! There's something you can do still. y'know those spears on the second floor? Grab 'em. March your ass back down and wait for glas to grab someone. When he does this, hit his ankle right where the skin meets the pants. He'll drop the person, and leave an opening for you to do the break off.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Now that that's out of the way, I can honestly say I am disappointed with Nexon. Since I left about a month or so ago, they have basically done nothing. Nexon EU already has Vella's Dual Blades. This happened back on MAY F***ING SECOND. Nexon EU has also obtained a special enhancement rune that protects your gear when going to +11. I'm not sure if it was an event item or if it's available in the shop. Either way, Nexon NA has a ways to go until we catch up.

Items! Get your Items here! FREE STUFF!

VINDICTUS

Ok ok, im 100% super serious when I say this. You may want to get on vindictus and check this out.

You see this? this is over $23 bucks worth of stuff. FREE. Get on that shit. Also, if you look, you see a "Treasure chest key" Possible chest event coming soon? Hopefully so. I never got rid of my chests from the first time around soooooo. Oh yeah, don't forget to log in on 4/13 (the day I wrote this) 9 pm central time for a FREE enchant rune. They're probably doing this because of all the people who had trouble that weekend. (including myself) :<

WARFRAME

Glorious Leader is being quite the sir, and letting me post things about Warframe as well as Vindictus. So i'll have 2 separate categories everytime something like this happens. Anyway, for those of you playing Warframe, update 7.7 came out yesterday. And boy is it awesome. Ether weapons are here. as well as dual Vipers and I think maybe a couple other nice things. I've also heard that a few new mods have been implimented as well as a few Warframes' (like Ash's) Abilities have been swapped around. Here's a photo of the Ether weapons.

That's it for this update. Hope you guys enjoy whatever you're playing this week. See ya!

Not Vindictus related, just something I want to share with you guys. Maybe make this a hybrid site. WHO KNOWS!?

So, as some of you may or may not have noticed, I haven't really been getting on lately. That's mainly because I've been playing this kickass game called "Ninjas in Space." Actually it's called Warframe, but people just call it Ninjas in Space because that's basically what it is.

It just recently (last month actually) went into open beta. I'd love to have some people to play with, and if we extend our guild to other games, who knows, we may be pretty damn popular. Here's the Open Beta trailer. Definitely worth a watch or 5.

If you guys are interested, my IGN alias is: Tachumo. Send me a friend request and leave a comment so other people can add you. The game does not take up much space and is a relatively quick and easy download (a lot faster than Vindictus.) Here's a link to the main page, you'll have to make an account as well.

FINE! I'll do it now. I have nothing better to do. Worse things yes, better? No.

Ok so in my last post, I spoke of a PVP tourney towards the end. I'm HEAVILY considering it. We have 80 something members, so I'm pretty sure i can find at least 16 people that would want to participate. I myself will NOT be participating. (Yeah, deal with it. You guys can kick my ass some other time.) Since everyone seems really balance, I won't be holding many restrictions. BUT! I will come up with a set of rules and regulations that I will expect everyone to follow. A lot of these are from when I participated in Omen's PVP tourney.

Ok, so onto the restrictions.

14.5k is the highest attack /magic attack that I'm allowing. Soooo worrying about lv 80 weapons won't be a problem.
Have too much? take off a ring or whatever. You'll come up with something.

8k def for all characters except Fiona since her low attack speed compared to every other character. Fiona's get up to 9k.

Since we still have Fiona fresh on our minds. If you play a Fiona, you are welcome to change shields depending on who you will be dueling, so long as you don't go over the Def Cap of 9k. <--- see? I even reminded you guys. :>

Kai: It's pretty easy with Kai in PVP. I wanted to say longbow only and no "Armed and Dangerous" ability, but that'd be a pretty big hassle. And ain't nobody got time fo' dat. So, if you're playing kai, one simple thing, and this kinda goes for everyone as well. Don't play like a douche. (spaming shortbow arrows, spamming hollow shot with the crossgun, things of that nature.)

SP: This will be allowed, but the use of potential one hit moves, Eagle Eye Assault, Six Shooter, Massive Attack, Reverse Gravity, Earthquake, things of that nature are BANNED. Surely you guys have seen the devastating damage that a crossgun can do. And you all can agree that it would be a bad idea to allow it. This is mainly pointed towards Kais but you guys get where I'm going with that. Moving on....

Quickslots: Off. No exceptions. "Oops, I accidentally used a Superior HP potion." Yeah, Bullshit. Turn those off when starting a duel.

Pets. Nope. Nuh uh. Not even gremlins. I don't give a FUCK how adorable your free wolf is, you're not bringing it with you. They may tweak the balance of the match using one of their abilities, and we just can't have that.

Match Bracket Locations: I'll be setting players against each other through luck of the draw. I plan on drawing all names out of a hat. The order I draw them out, is the order in which they will be placed. If anyone thinks that isn't fair, explain please.

Duels will be best 2 out of 3. Winner of 2 will move on to the next round. I plan to have 2 brackets. A winner's bracket and a loser's bracket. Looks something like this.

Ok, I think that about covers it. I'll be available for talking to whenever I'm online. But if you need to sign up, and can't get a hold of me, (I'm slippery like a worm) just leave a comment here or talk to someone who will remember to speak with me. If I need to add anything to this, let me know and I will.

HOLY SHIT, I almost forgot to mention the prize. Since this will be the very first tourney, the prize is 10k NX. If it works out well, I may do this again but with a bigger prize. I'm too much of a bastard to work and get enough gold to pay you guys that way. NO ENTRY FEE REQUIRED. If you get runner up, tough beans. You didn't win.

Spring is here...........boing. I'm a rabbit.

Hey guys. Valark here with another super duper thing from my update-o-rama machine. Easter event is here and holy crap. DAT NECKLACE! Here's what it does.
ATT and M.ATT +500
Balance, Attack speed, Critical: +3   <--- me gusta
Def: +500
Luck +10 <----WTF!?

This Necklace has ASTOUNDING bonuses, so take advantage of this while you can. Do all your raids, run for some scrolls, maybe even do some season 2 runs.Unfortunately, no word on Seal Shop update. But if I were to guess, I'd say April 3rd or 4th depending on when the event ends officially. Stack them seals.

Let's see....what else......OH YEAH! Korea announced that they're doing character revamps. Holy Hercules Testicles. This stuff right here is gonna blow everyone's minds.

Lann is the only character I know about with the revamp. Fiona is getting it as well, but from what I know, it's mostly small shield stuff. Sword lann is getting a major buff. Every poke with Thousand Needles will boost your crit chance (up to 10%). and Furious 7 will be more controllable. Among other things.
Eh, frankly I really don't feel like writing the rest of this. So here's a copy paste from VindiHQ with stuff....and things.

"The central element of Lann gameplay is crit.

But it is becoming increasingly difficult for Lanns to use Gliding Fury or Lightning Fury due to the increasing amount of crit resistance monsters are getting. Lann’s revamp will be centered around improving his crit chances.

This will mainly be done with Thousand Needles.

Now as a separate skill, Thousand Needle will increase crit chance for each hit that connects [capped at 10%]

So this skill will be needed to be used when the target shows an opening to fully utilize the crit buff and when Lann scores a crit, an additional effect will be added to this buff which improves Fury skills.

Skills effected by this extra buff are Gliding Fury, Lightning Fury, and Fury 7."

So that's the update. Hope you guys are enjoying the last week of the March events. I'm kind of tempted to host a "guild members only PVP tourney" But I'll get back to you guys on that in the next couple days. If not later today :>

PEACE, CRACKAS!!

PEW PEW! KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! :>

WOO! Kai's Crossgun is finally here! And with it, some awesome new fixes and changes. Gonna summarize all of that here real quick for you guys.

First things first, practice mode has been implemented. This handy dandy tool allows you to practice raid bosses you may be having trouble with, or if you just feel like Soloing. It keeps track of how many times you revive as well. I think I may be doing something with this later.

Next up is PVP, they have added an FFA gametype at rocheste castle. I myself have yet to try this. Kind of curious about it. Apparently you can use the triumph medals to get high level gear more easily now. (goodbye 200mil kraken fangs)

A minor adjustment has been made to where that all story items have their own little tab. It's a little gold box with a scroll in it on the bottom of your inventory.

From here, I'm just going to copy-paste the important changes.

-Lowered the difficulty of Season 2 Episode 1 normal/story battles

-Change the sorting order of Season 2 battles

-The interface for a list of Bonus Missions has changed during battles
-Slightly decreased the DEF & Critical resistance of the Raid Bosses (Lakoria, Kraken, Havan)

-The ‘For Honor’ quest has been revised so players can complete the story more easily

-Implemented daily battles for Season 2

-Rankings will now be displayed in the in-game banner

-Shop prices on weapons & armor have been adjusted.

An outfit shop has been introduced! Outrageous prices for full outfits that give a couple stat bonuses. $32 for the vampire hunter set? No thanks. I've been informed that these items can't be dyed....kinda sucks, I'd have loved to see a pure black and white vampire hunter set.

Come March 20th, Vindi will be doing another lonely traveler event. Go see the kitty cat at the Inn every day from 3/20 to 4/3 for some fancies.

That's all for now. Keep on keeping on my fellow guildies!

Valark's Big Book of Vindictus

Alright Patriots, it's come to my knowledge that we need to learn how to Kraken. But before I get into too much detail, Im going to give the slapdown to some stats and how they contribute to each character. I was going to name this post "Valark's Big Book of Kraken Strategy and Character Stats," but I changed my mind since I have everything here. If you decide to keep reading, there will be cursing. Much of it, prepare your eyeballs.................bitches.

STR: Strength, this shit right here is what boosts that attack. Every character except Evie NEEDS STR. Each STR Point is exactly 2.7 ATT (bet you didn't know that!) If you are not an Evie, and don't have STR mastery at least A, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!

AGI: See that? It's Agility, bitches. That stuff boosts your DEF and allows you to get that damn green bar we call "stamina" back faster. EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER needs this stuff. Also, For Lanns, this stuff increases your gliding fury damage. Don't question it. Just accept it.

WIL: WIL is pretty damn important. Gives you HP, gets you more crits. Mo' crits, mo damage, mo damage, you can beat other people for top % damage in raids. Lanns, this stuff is like your crack.

LUK: I don't even see why the fuck I'm getting into this stat, we all know what it is. Mo Luck, Mo Drops. Nuff said.

INT: If you're not an Evie, don't fuck with this stat. It doesn't do shit for you and never will. Unless I see a Karok waving around a wooden stick using magic, don't question me on this. Every 1 point of INT you get, is 2 points of M. ATT. 50 INT for 100 M. ATT? I like that shit. One last thing with INT, Evies, you need Mana Shield to Survive, if it's maxed, it can take up to double your INT in damage.

Crit and Crit resist: Crits are made by this college level Calc 3 formula here: "Critical - Crit resist = total crit chance." FUCKING WIZARDRY. It doesn't take a genius to notice that Crit is nice for everyone. But Lanns. LANNS NEED THIS LIKE WE NEED WATER TO LIVE. Since Lann's perform off of crits, we can use another handy dandy college formula. 1 wil point = .0016 crit chance. now that doesn't seem like a lot, but my lann has I think about 1200 Wil, so if we take .0016 and multiply it by 1200, that's 1.92% And you know what that is? Fucking awesome that's what. Infinities have a base crit of 45. The Formula for overall crit chance is: "Crit skill % + weapon crit + (WIL x .0016) + other crit enhancements." SO, if my Lann were to fight a 0 crit resist enemy, he has a roughly 97% chance to crit. Dat Damage. Enough about crit, let's get onto some characters now.

Lanns: Evasive tanks. Basically means that if you dodge properly, you'll never die. You mainly want STR, WIL, and AGI. If You're a Spear Lann, some DEF wouldn't hurt either. I dunno, maybe max DEF mastery and AGI Mastery? Gliding Fury is your absolute best friend. This can either be used as an attack method, or if you're used to it enough, even an evasive move. Sword Lanns have a MUCH easier time dodging since they have 2 that last a decent while. Spear Lanns not so much, although they can Gliding Off of their dodge, they cannot use windmill to use GF. So If you're a spear lann, forget about windmill. Try to get in the habit of using standing endurance to get up and see how that affects your gameplay.

Fionas: DEF. DEF EVERYWHERE. Karoks may be able to absorb hits, but Fiona's are the tanks of this game. Ever seen a Fiona with 14k def? I've seen some shit, but this just takes the cake. Small shields are good for being a speedy Fio, but you will have more vulnerable spots than a large shield. It's a trade off really.

Evies: MAGICU! It's not that fucking hard. Okay I lied a bit. Back on East Server, I have a lv 67 Evie. Thought I was the shit. Came to west and after a few months i thought to myself, dayum, my evie was a peice of crap. It is SO EASY for an Evie to hit 14k M. ATT. All you need, is a +10 Gallant Divine Punishment LV 60 Weapon. DP is the hardest part. So if you think about it, you may be asking, "Then why don't I see Evie's that have top DPS all the time?" I'll tell you, KAIS.

Kais: I won't lie, the main reason I do a lot of damage in raids isn't because I have a lot of attack, 13k isn't that much compared to a lot of the players. You guys wonder how I rarely die in raids? It's because I can manage keeping my distance from enemies. It's key to know just how far Kai's bows can go. Sniz, If you're reading this, remember when we fought Colru's 1st stage in green room? Didn't go too well huh? The reason I didn't want Cchio in there was because the green golem has fire like material at his feet that hurt your character if you get to close. You want to be close to the end of each bow mode range to optimize your ranged advantage. And ALWAYS, I repeat, FUCKING ALWAYS have a dodge grapple up! That shit has saved my Kai more times than I can count. Now onto the heavy hitter Karok.

Karoks: Again, I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit jealous of Karoks. They can take numerous hits, and only lose a little HP. Their damage absorbtion is what separates them from the other characters. They can keep attacking without too much worry. And they have 8.5k+ def, these guys are INCREDIBLY hard to take down. They will double fist ANYTHING that eve looks at them wrong. So if you see a karok waltzing around with 10k DEF, and like 16k ATT, don't fuck with him. He'll have you bent over like how he grabs a vampire in no time.

Vella: I'm no expert on Vella. But I can give you a basic theory of what I have come up with. Have a decent amount of DEF and ATT with little to no lag, and odds are you won't die. Her Cross Cut makes her impervious to +/- 90% of all attacks. (Note that Cross Cut cannot be used in PVP.) Not to mention that her Backlash skill is TOTALLY OP. If Kielu is coming after you and you're a Vella, all you have to do is spam backlash and you win with little effort.

Lastly, before getting into Kraken, I'm going to jump onto some universal character points.

Vindictus is NOT what it used to be. It has changed immensely over the years. Remember when you would be on the ground after getting hit and still take damage? Ahglan fucked your shit left right up and down whenever that happened with him. Now, Ahglan ain't big at ALL. If you get knocked over, and the boss is still next to you, take a nap. You won't get hurt. Ignition revolutionized vindictus and made it easier to play. FOR PETES SAKE, THEY EVEN HAVE A NOTICE FOR LANNS TELLING YOU THAT YOU CAN USE GLIDING FURY!! Back in my day, you had to know what a crit looked like. Karok's absorbtion has also become a bit easier. Fiona's sword speed was DRASTICALLY increased. Kai's got nerfed (a bit, nothing major) and Evies got a bit more fancy. Other than that, it's small stuff. A couple quick tips and I'll be on Kraken.

You can re-equip quickslot items in mid-battle. NOT SECONDARY WEAPONS.

Always have a party feather. I'll find a Karok to violate you if you don't have one. People will love you if you have party feathers. THERE'S EVEN A TITLE FOR USING THEM +1 STR and +1 INT if you're curious.

TITLES: BEST FUCKING THING ABOUT THIS GAME. You don't have to earn the best title and just use that. They have it set to where you get titles that add up. I've seen title capped people before. They're stats are like, 41526X better than those with like...80 something titles.
1-99 titles: Grey
100-199 titles: Green
200-299 titles: Light Blue
300-399 titles: Purple
400-??? titles: Gold <-- Fucking Gorgeous by the way.

Leaching. If you do this, I don't give a fuck who you are, FUCK YOU. Leachers are those people who, after a raid starts, they go AFK and don't help in the battle AT ALL. How pissed would you be if you do all the work, and some lazy ass person gets like 2 rare drops for doing nothing? It sucks. Let me tell you.

Raids: We all love them. Mo' raids, Mo' money. And money is where it's at with this game. When you hit 60, first thing you should do is unlock all your raids. One of the best things you can do is do all your raids everyday. You even get seals to buy rare drops FROM those raids. It's a win win even if you don't get drops. And with the updated seal shop coming (hopefully with Kai's Crossgun) it'll be easier to get the weapon of your dreams! So start saving!

Dodging Evading Attacks: When I think of Dodging, I think of a helpless puppy  trying not to get hit with a broom with no way to fight back. That's panzy talk. Evading Attacks sounds a lot more badass. This shit keeps you from being the guy/girl that everyone has to revive. Learn the Bosses attack patterns. Learn how long your dodge lasts, learn how to survive. If you drink a potion while the boss is finishing an attack, he's more likely to come after you. This thing called AGRO. So learn when to drink potions and stuff as well. I think that about covers it. MOTHER FUCKING KRAKEN TIME!!!

See this bitch above? You're not fighting this. I could kill that with my kneecap.

THIS HUGE FUCKER is what you will be battling. In no way, size shape or form will this be easy. This is one of the most difficult bosses that the crazy minds of Korea have given us. And holy fuck is this a challenge. Ima lay the plan down for everyone to see. And try to describe every little bit for you guys to level out with.

Here is a basic tutorial. It gives all the classes specific jobs that they should be complying with. Don't complain about your job, "If you don't like it, rank another character up," is the only thing I can say. If you don't feel like watching the video, too bad. It's actually pretty well made and I HIGHLY encourage it. It's Part one of two, but I didn't see part 2 anywhere. If you guys find it, feel free to comment. Here is a Map of Kraken positions. I will describe all of them.
Sword Lann's are useful at any position but head.
H1, 2, 3: Head team - Spear lann's, Kai's.
H4: Kai, backs up other tentacles and attacks head with SP skills.
T1: front Right tentacle Evie's preferred
T11: Front Left tentacle Evies's preferred
T5: Back Right Tentacle Karok, Vella, Fiona, Kai
T7: Back Left Tentacle Karok, Vella, Fiona, Kai
P2: Phase 2 Tentacles Activate at Health Bar 7
P3: Phase 3 Tentacles Activate at Health Bar 4

Phases 2 and 3 (to my knowledge) do NOT fully activate in 50-69 raids. Only 70-80.

TL;DR, If you read this first, fuck you, I spent a lot of work on this. Go read it.  :>

Hopefully you guys have a better grasp on the game now after this, and we can keep working at it and before you know it, hey, maybe we'll be rocking 70-80 kraken!

Lots of love, Valark.

Edit as of 3/11/13:
Pointed towards Member Cchio: I, Valark, humbly apologize for any harsh and/or negative feelings you have dealt with because of this post.

Nexon With GREAT Compensation

After that miserable time dealing with five updates from what would have been a 24 hour maintenance, (turned into about 36 hours) Nexon released this as our compensation:

New Compensation Plan:
  • 48 Hour Extension on all Cash Items.
  • Raid +4 (2/28 @ 2:00pm – 10:00pm)
  • 2X EXP & 2X AP (2/28 @ 2:00pm – 10:00pm)
  • +5 Blessing Stone
And lucky for us we don't live in Australia. They're still reportedly having problems. Also, Apparently there are still connectivity issues, but those may only be in Australia. They weren't to specific on where. Needless to say, the people on the forums don't know how to react.

Aww yiss. Update time!

Vindictus EU is getting the "Fatigue System" implemented in the following days/weeks. Here's what it does.

The Newly Added Limits are for

- Preventing from damages for Well-intentioned players in the game
- Preventing bad users from playing endless battle (e.g. botting)
- Stabilizing the Gold Price by preventing Infinite Farming

The Fatigue System functions as follows:

- You will be able to reach a max fatigue of 500 (200 daily fatigue + 300 bonus fatigue)
- The daily fatigue will be recovered regularly (daily basis); Fatigue can be also restored through potions
- If your total Fatigue becomes 40 or less, you will receive the "Burning Status" which will bless you with a bonus effect
- If your total Fatigue becomes 200 or more, you will receive the "Resting Bonus" which will bless you with a bonus effect

Fatigue Drainage:
- Fatigue Points will be deducted for: Season 1 & 2 battlequests and Daily Raids
- Fatigue Points will decrease as soon as you start the battle or if you join a battle as assist
- DS Battles will not descrease your fatigue points.

Now that that is out of the way, I'm REALLY hoping we don't get this system installed.

In other news, here is a Video showcasing Vella's Dual Blades and Season 2 Episode 2.
